QUALIFICATIONS DESCRIPTION

This qualification reflects the role of early childhood educators who are responsible for designing and implementing curriculum in early childhood education and care services. In doing so they work to implement an approved learning framework within the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Regulations and the National Quality Standard.

COURSE ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

Must be 18 years of age or over, Completed Year 12 (HSC or equivalent)

Minimum of 5.5 IELTS score or equivalent (International students only)

COURSE DURATION

The Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care is offered over 12 months full time study or 2 years part time.

Students are required to undertake 240 hours or 12 weeks of student work placement during the course.

Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (CHC30113)

This is an essential qualification for anyone seeking employment in Child Care. This course will meet the requirements of workers who use organisational policies, procedures and individual children’s profiles to plan activities and care for children, facilitating their leisure and play and enabling them to achieve their development outcomes.

COURSE DURATION

The guideline for duration is 6 months – 2 years depending on your chosen study option. Credit transfer and RPL options may also reduce the overall time taken to complete the course.

Pathways to Further Study

On completion of this qualification, you can gain credit (between 11-13 units) into the CHC50113 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care to continue your education career. This will shorten the duration of your Diploma course and also reduce the fees.
